Little moments add up
Senior year came so soon
Hanging on to memories
We can make before this June
Whether it's pizza parlors that we come across
Or matching sweatshirts that we found in the mall
Or soaking up all of our high school lasts
Before we're gone next fall
I know change can trigger sadness
But I have no fear at all
Cuz when I come back home
I know my bed will still be made
And all those homesick memories
Will fade right away
Board games still on Friday
Survivor Wednesday nights
Sitting in my dorm
I'll join in spirit, not in sight
Whether it's loads of classes or I've made new friends
I'll still be calling home each morning just to get your two cents
Or when I see the family group chat
Talking about some fun event
Even though I won't be there
I'll wanna hear how it went
And when I come back soon
I'll appreciate much more
Now that I've experienced life
Outside my front door
Life has changed
So much in the last four years
From normal life
To a world filled with fear
Before I know
I'll be dressed in a cap and gown
Then goodbye to
Life in my hometown
Whether it's church on Sundays
Or late talks at night
It will all remind me of the home
That gave me life
And when I come back soon
To the place I lived
That was and is and will always be
The home that makes me, me
