Paroles
Ay yo, you know when ever you decide to make music your official career

You start to lose touch, with that person that decided to start doing music in the first place

Whenever you're worrying about deadlines, and what people think

Rather than if you like it, and if its going to make any money rather than if it makes you happy

But lately I've just rediscovered that joy I once had

Music gets me in my mood, and nothings gonna stop it

Now I can't quit smiling', know my teeth aren't flawless

I don't care about my shoes, I'm just grateful that I'm walkin'

Happy to be breathing' and I love the fact I'm talkin'

And you listen to my tunes, and I Ain't had a day like this

Since yesterday I pray I get the chance to say the way I feel

And every day I'm moved, its all part of my perception

Everyday that I'm alive I have realized is such a blessin'

It starts with attitude, happy and I know it

Keep closin' both of my eyes but I keep my heart wide open

Stayin' grounded, now, I'm astounded I keep growin

To the man my momma wanted and to think once I was hopeless

Now I'm focused on my future but I keep it level headed

It don't hurt to plan ahead but there's nothing like the present

We experience expression manifestin' in the essence

Of the spirit when you're near it you will feel the same connections

And I remember days, back before I had a bit of since

About responsibility or benefits of being rich

Pure tranquility and innocence

Lately I been visitin' those memories to reminisce

And take me back in hopes that I can take it back and play pretend

With all my friends again, before my elders got so sick

Before my parents got divorced, before my partner up and quit

Before my daddy got remarried and my step father had split

Psh, yeah I see the omens I just greet them with a grin

Heh, detach from all my drama know my karmas comic' thick

Rest in peace to Deven Trull look I miss you all the time

But it's all right, ay I know that you're my Angel in disguise

I'm eating' right

And I mean more than food, don't eat up the gossip

Either way I'm smilin', Know my teeth aren't flawless

I don't care about my shoes, I'm just grateful that I'm walkin'

Happy to be breathing' and I love the fact I'm talkin'

And you listen to my tunes

The past died two weeks ago, life is a river seek the flow, hm

The same particles that made the Sun, made your lungs, we need to glow

Your appetite is currency, pay attention to what you eat the most

Pain propels problems into proverbs when my Granny died

I read C. S. Lewis's "Grief Observed", through golden laced tears I read these words

No one ever told me that grief, felt so much like fear

But today is tomorrow, let the blessings rain

Scars are skeleton keys for wisdom accept the lessons gained

We are all always children looking for the temperament of hope

When you find it let it rain from the mountain top like an instruments note

The sheet music on your heart was penned in blessed brush strokes

A picture, of dams breaking like clouds with Sun rays pouring in your windowpane

Take it in, let the levies loose, It's time for something new

Let the levies loose before the crops choke

The pain our hearts contained are fertile foundations for growth

Mhm, let the levies loose, your tears are holy water

Baptize the world with your beautiful bruises begging other beautiful souls to belt their benedictions

But not for benefits or Benjamin's, beyond our broken we are hoping to help heal someone else's ills

So speak it, through your words let the levies loose

And we'll all exit hell like meditation mantras

But before you goodbye your breath, don't forget what your pain taught ya
