I've been knocking, knocking on that door

It goes unanswered like so many times before

I know they hear me but they ignore me

As if I don't exist in the world that they live in

But I keep knocking, won't somebody let me in

I met Jesus walking down my road

We got to talking about this heavy load

He done told me the same old story

That he'd been knocking and no one let the good man in

Don't feel so bad now the company I'm in

So I got to thinking this was not the place to be

And maybe there were others feeling just a bit like me

So we threw a party inviting Jesus and celebrating

Like we'd never done before
