Ground to this blessed earth
Noticing where our bodies meet the surfaces that hold us
There is enough space for you here always
Wherever this life has brought you by choice, force, or circumstance, you belong
This world beneath us belongs to those who steward it
And who have been its steward since the formation of our creation
The ancestors whose bones and fossils now make up the minerals under our feet
Want us to listen as someday we will all join them
Let us open ourselves from toes, hands, hearts, and up to our crown
To receive their divine message
In connecting to this earth,
Let us notice the air within us
The wind flowing freely within our entire bodies
Tuning into our sacred breath of life
This air is available and travels through almost living thing
Deepening our breaths to this ancient technology and wisdom
Take a moment to listen to your own inner rhythm
Exchanging carbon dioxide for oxygen with our plant companions and allies
While air gives us life, we are more water than anything
With each breath let's begin to notice where water lives in our bodies
From saliva, sweat, tears and beyond
Water is the element nourishing every cell that makes us
Blessing our waters with each breath
Giving gratitude for how it welcomes the good and releases the bad from our systems
How it washes our fears and clears the new day for joy to enter again
With the water within us, let us feel into the fire
The heat emanating from our core and hearts
Exiting our feet, hands, and the crowns of our heads
We are alive in this uncertain and unlikely time
Just as this element was discovered by some of our earliest ancestors,
We are living against impossible odds made possible
Our divine design and existence is evidence of what can be
When we believe in our right to grow, evolve, and expand beyond our current states
Like our plant relatives,
We chose a path and connected for a purpose that is still being actualized in this very moment
As all these elements combine to create our being
We defy and prove the sacredness and brilliance of our existence and design
No virus or threat can overcome a love so strong -
The one we feel with our entire being
The greatest grief of our time is testament to the potential
Of how much more love there can be
It starts and ends with you, me, and all we share in between
