They asked me do I sample at all
Don't get it wrong I love original production

But I also love, you know, sampling
I mean it's nothing like walking into your favorite record store
Walking down your favorite aisle
Going through records
And then boom
Covers just hit you
And, you know, you let the imagination run, you know
The possibilities that what could sound this record
You know just thinking about things that you know, that's on this record
What you could possibly mess around with
You know it's a beautiful thing for me
That question also reminded me of, uh
The beauty of sampling and, uh
Just letting the record play
And finding your favorite parts on the record
And snatchin' it up and recreating something totally new

And usually an idea will come to me
Might be in the middle of the session (ideas just come to me, like)
Might be in the car or some shit
With my kid or some shit (maybe in the studio, maybe in the car)
Smoking or some shit (maybe with my kid)
