We and our families been working all day
Knowing it could all be taken away
Used to speak loud now don't got much to say
Been building up without controversy
Say say say what you want about me
Protect my family with every part of my body
We're a problem papers can't wash away
We been the minor in minority
There's millions of us, billions of them
They are the seed, we are the stem
We are the spirit, they are the science
We are the real ones, sleeping giants
Always in the margins, but never in the center
When they want our numbers that's when they remember
Safety and secrets in violence and silence
I'm training the next generation of sirens
But you know
We had a hiatus
To heal some wounds
And to share some moons
I ASPIREd with you, I UPLIFTd with you
We used to RAISE all the issues
People who govern would refuse
We organized our communities
National Alliance and Justice Leagues
So much trauma, drama, and fatigue
I couldn't see you and you couldn't see me
Nothing else really mattered to me
When I put this work before my family
The moment is dead, but I still want us free
I had to honor the movement lived in me
Don't sweat it when you cannot save the day
Takes many lives and efforts for these laws to go away
No matter what we do they got so much things to say
I'll leave it up to native folks on who can go and stay
