A parade and a girl

She sat straight
As a queen

How I stared

I reached out with my hand

And then she smiled

With the sun in my eyes she was gone

Then a boy
Caught my eye

Not too clean
There were guards but he dodged in between

And he called out my name
And he started to run

And I tried not to smile
But I smiled
And then he bowed!

But I knew even then
