The year is 2011

I'm walking the halls of my middle school

With my face buried in a notebook full of raps

My teachers are telling me

I need to pay attention in class more

I didn't listen

I never listened

I lost pretty much all of my friends

I was up in my room studying the classics

While they were in someone's basement getting plastered

We just grew apart
